Mimulus aurantiacus, commonly known as ‘sticky monkey-flower’, is part of the Phrymaceae family and is prized for its tubular, nectar-rich blooms that attract hummingbirds and pollinators. Native to warm, dry regions, it thrives in full sun, well-drained soil, and moderate fertility, showing excellent drought and heat tolerance. Perfect for rock gardens, mixed containers, and sunny borders, Mimulus provides long-lasting seasonal color with minimal care.
Remove from mist promptly, maintain 68°–70°F (20°–21°C). pH 5.8–6.2, EC 0.8–1.0. Feed 50 ppm N early, then 100 ppm N. Fungicide at sticking and week 2; pinch as needed for branching.
