Lavandula Stoechas
Lavandula stoechas, commonly known as ‘Spanish lavender’ or ‘Butterfly Lavender’, belongs to the Lamiaceae family and is valued for its aromatic foliage and distinctive bracted blooms that resemble butterfly wings. Thrives in full sun, well-drained soil, and moderate fertility offering exceptional heat and drought tolerance once established. Ideal for Mediterranean-style gardens, patio containers, and pollinator-friendly landscapes, it provides both ornamental beauty and fragrant appeal.
Stick cuttings promptly, avoid excess mist, and maintain 65°–68°F (18°–20°C). Keep pH at 5.8–6.2, EC 0.8–1.0. Feed 50 ppm N early, increasing to 100 ppm N. Apply fungicide at sticking and week 2; avoid overwatering to reduce Botrytis risk.
