Craspedia

Craspedia globosa

Craspedia globosa, commonly called ‘billy buttons’ or ‘drumstick flower’, is part of the Asteraceae family and is valued for its perfectly round, golden-yellow flower heads that add unique texture to both fresh and dried arrangements. This hardy perennial, often grown as an annual, thrives in full sun, well-drained soil, and moderate fertility. Craspedia is exceptionally drought tolerant once established and performs beautifully in borders, mixed containers, and cut-flower production.
Reduce mist by day 2–3 after sticking; dip cuttings in rooting hormone or spray K-IBA. pH 5.8–6.4, EC 0.8–1.2, feed 50 ppm N then 100–150 ppm N. Daminozide 1,200–1,500 ppm as needed; fungicide at sticking and week 2.
