Begonia semperflorens
Begonia semperflorens, commonly known as ‘wax begonia’, belongs to the Begoniaceae family and is prized for its glossy foliage and continuous blooms that thrive in both sun and partial shade. This versatile annual grows best in well-drained soil with consistent moisture and moderate fertility. Ideal for bedding, borders, and mixed containers, begonias provide long-lasting color and exceptional garden performance from spring through frost.
Stick cuttings promptly and remove from mist to prevent Botrytis. Maintain 68°–70°F (20°–21°C) and avoid drying out to speed rooting. pH 5.5–6.2, EC 0.8–1.0, feed 50 ppm N then 100 ppm N. Apply fungicide at sticking and week 2; do not store below 50°F (10°C).
