Vinca minor

Vinca minor

Vinca minor, commonly referred to as ‘periwinkle’ or ‘creeping myrtle’, is a low-growing evergreen ground cover valued for its glossy foliage and charming blue, violet, or white flowers. It thrives in partial to full shade and is highly adaptable to various soil types, making it an excellent solution for erosion control, underplanting, and low-maintenance landscapes. Reliable in propagation with uniform sticking and rooting. Prefers well-drained soil and moderate fertility, forming vigorous trailing growth with glossy foliage. Requires minimal PGR.

Danziger offers a notable variety in this crop:

  • Minor Bowles Cunningham – A classic selection known for its vigorous spreading habit and soft lavender-blue flowers, providing year-round ground coverage with seasonal floral interest.
