Ajuga reptans

Ajuga reptans, commonly known as ‘bugleweed’, is a low-growing, spreading perennial from the Lamiaceae family, prized for its colorful foliage and dense mat-forming habit. It thrives in partial shade to full sun, in well-drained soil and moderate fertility, offering excellent weed suppression and multi-season visual interest. Easy to manage in propagation with quick sticking and uniform rooting. Prefers moderate moisture and well-drained soil, establishing rapidly into dense mats. PGR use is minimal, as its natural growth habit provides compact, attractive groundcover.

Ajuga is ideal for groundcover in shaded areas, container plantings, and edging, with foliage colors ranging from deep burgundy to bronze, purple, and variegated patterns.
