Growing Guide, Production Protocols, and Danziger Series Overview

Cultivation & Growing Guidelines

Phygelius, commonly referred to as ‘Cape fuchsia’, is a semi-evergreen perennial from the Scrophulariaceae family, known for its long, tubular flowers and extended blooming season. It thrives in full sun to partial shade, in well-drained soil and moderate fertility. Reliable in propagation with uniform sticking and steady rooting under warm, well-ventilated conditions. Consistent moisture management supports growth, while light PGR use encourages compact, floriferous plants.

With its bold, pendant blooms and upright, shrubby habit, Phygelius is ideal for adding height, color, and tropical flair to mixed borders, containers, and landscape plantings.
