Gaura lindheimeri, commonly known as ‘whirling butterflies’, is a graceful perennial from the Onagraceae family, appreciated for its airy structure and delicate, fluttering blooms. It thrives in full sun, well-drained soil, and low to moderate fertility, showing excellent drought tolerance and long flowering throughout the summer and into fall. Gaura is ideal for naturalistic landscapes, borders, and mixed containers, adding movement and texture with minimal maintenance.
