Dianthus plumarius
Dianthus plumarius, commonly known as ‘cottage pink’, is a perennial species from the Caryophyllaceae family, admired for its finely fringed blooms and pleasant clove-like fragrance. It thrives in full sun, well-drained soil, and moderate fertility, making it an excellent choice for rock gardens, borders, and classic perennial beds. Stick promptly, reduce mist early, keep 65°–68°F (18°–20°C). pH 5.8–6.2, EC 0.8–1.0. Feed gradually, fungicide at sticking and week 2, pinch optional.
