Salvia farinacea

Salvia farinacea

Salviafarinacea, commonly known as ‘mealycup sage’, is part of the Lamiaceae family and is admired for its tall spikes of deep blue to violet flowers and silvery-green foliage. This heat- and drought-tolerant perennial, often grown as an annual, thrives in full sun, well-drained soil, and moderate fertility. Perfect for pollinator-friendly gardens, mixed containers, and landscape borders, it provides season-long color and structure with minimal maintenance.
Stick promptly, maintain 70°F (21°C) early, cooling to 65°F (18°C). pH 5.8–6.2, EC 0.8–1.0. Feed 50 ppm N, then 100 ppm N. Fungicide at sticking and week 2; pinch for fuller habit.
