Monarda didyma

Monarda didyma, commonly known as ‘bee balm’, is a vibrant, aromatic perennial from the Lamiaceae family, cherished for its bold flower clusters and strong appeal to pollinators like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. It thrives in full sun to partial shade, in well-drained but moist soil with moderate fertility. Easy to handle in vegetative propagation, with quick sticking and uniform rooting in warm, moist conditions. Good air circulation and moderate PGR use help maintain compact, healthy plants with strong garden performance.

With its mildew-resistant breeding improvements and long flowering season, Monarda didyma is ideal for pollinator gardens, borders, and summer landscapes where color, fragrance, and ecological value are key.
